Georgian Parliament Speaker meets his colleague from Kingdom of Denmark

Georgian Parliament Speaker, Shalva Papuashvili met with the Speaker of the Parliament of the Kingdom of Denmark, Henrik Dem.

The sides reviewed the bilateral and multilateral cooperation between Georgia and the Kingdom of Denmark. The importance of deepening parliamentary ties was underlined.

Shalva Papuashvili also focused on cooperation between the two countries and expressed gratitude for the contribution of the Kingdom of Denmark in the process of building democracy and state institutions in Georgia.

The Speaker welcomed the decision of the Kingdom of Denmark to open an embassy in Georgia. According to him, this step will significantly enhance cooperation between the two countries.

The Speaker of the Parliament of Georgia spoke in detail about the steps taken by Georgia on the path of European integration and the implemented reforms.

Shalva Papuashvili expressed hope that the Kingdom of Denmark would support the granting of candidate status to Georgia, Ukraine and Moldova. The meeting also touched upon the Russian aggression in Ukraine and its consequences.

The official visit of the Speaker of the Parliament of Georgia to the Scandinavian countries continues. The parliamentary delegation includes MPs Nikoloz Samkharadze, Maka Bochorishvili, Maia Bitadze and Herman Sabo.
