Georgian Parliament Speaker calls statement by Ukrainian Intelligence Service 'lie and unacceptable'
The Speaker of the Parliament of Georgia, Shalva Papuashvili, describes the statement by the Main Intelligence Division of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine as a ‘lie and unacceptable’.
“Simply put, this is a lie! This type of disinformation from a partner country, especially in these circumstances, is totally unacceptable,” Papuashvili wrote on Twitter.
Georgian Ministry of Finance also responded to the statement by the Ukrainian Intelligence Service claiming that Georgian political leadership is allegedly in agreement with Russia on smuggling the sanctioned goods through Georgia. “The Ministry of Finance of Georgia is declaring with full responsibility that any type of goods, including the military or of dual designation, as well as any product indicated in the list of sanctions, is subject to a tight control at customs by the Georgian authorities. It is worth noting that detailed information about it is shared with our every international partner,” Ministry said in a statement.
