Georgian national football team returns to Georgia

The Georgian national football team returned from Germany to Georgia this morning. The plane landed at the Tbilisi International Airport at 9:15. Thousands of football fans hosted the team with ovations.

The debutant Georgian team first faced Turkey and lost with a score of 1:3, in the second match against Czechia the game ended in a draw 1:1, and the team defeated Portugal with a score of 2:0.

Georgia faced Spain in the 1/8 finals of the UEFA EURO 2024 on June 30 in Cologne, Germany, and bid a dignified farewell to the European Championship.

Georgia scored the first goal but lost against the rival with a final score of 1:4.

With a heartful, effective and quick playing style, the debutant Georgian team won thousands of fans around the world. Planet Football wrote about Georgia: “Georgia, where have you been all our lives?”
