Georgian Justice Minister meets Hungarian European Affairs Committee Chair
The Georgian Justice Minister, Rati Bregadze, met with Judit Varga, the chair of the European Affairs Committee of the Hungarian National Assembly.
The Minister congratulated Varga on his new position and wished her success in the 2024 European Parliament elections.
“The Minister of Justice emphasized that Georgia’s decision to join the European Union reflects the choice of the Georgian people, and the Ministry of Justice remains an active supporter of this process.
A crucial aspect of the European integration process is aligning national legislation with EU legislation. Legislative amendments have been submitted to the Parliament, designating the Ministry of Justice as the coordinator for the harmonization of legislation. A computer program has also been developed for efficiency, along with an EU practical guide and a training module for civil servants,” the Ministry of Justice stated.
The Minister expressed hope for further deepening of the fruitful cooperation with Hungary in Georgia’s journey towards European integration.
