Georgian judoka Guram Tushishvili disqualified

Georgian judoka Guram Tushishvili faced legendary Teddy Riner from France in the 1/4 finals at the 2024 Paris Olympics but lost against his rival.

An incident took place between the two judokas following the tournament for which the Georgian judoka was disqualified and will not be allowed to enter the repechage round for a chance to compete for the bronze medal.

The Georgian judo team has three medals. Lasha Bekauri (90 kg category), the Tokyo Olympic Games Champion, won Georgia’s first gold medal at the Paris Olympics 2024, and Tato Grigalashvili (81 kg) and Ilia Sulamanidze secured silver medals.
