“The government program consists of four key components,” the Georgian Prime Minister told journalists after the confidence vote.
Giorgi Gakharia detailed the approved government program named Building a European state to journalists.
“We have to live in an unusual period. Over time, all of us will realize that the Covid-19 pandemic could not be solved in a day, a month, or a year. It is a problem that will be with us for quite some time. The global economic crisis caused by the pandemic has already become a structural economic crisis globally. Therefore, Georgia, like many other countries, can not cope with this crisis alone. So the first of the four most important components of a government program is the economy.
The second part is the social part, in which we combine health care and human capital management, including education.
Third and most important is the foreign policy, security, and occupation. The fourth, a new part, the most important for me and I think for the country. It is the system of the government.
There are many attempts to create a political crisis in a parliamentary democracy today. A public servant must be professional, conscientious, and politically neutral. He or she is the foundation for the further development of the state, Giorgi Gakharia said.
“When irresponsible politicians put their partisan, narrow interests above the interests of the state and the country, a public servant must be a politically neutral, highly qualified and conscientious person who must continue to care for people and citizens,” he said.
