Georgian government starts work on a new stage of a long-term Strategy on Human Rights
The Georgian government starts work on a new phase of a long-term strategy in the field of human rights, – stated Giorgi Gakharia, Prime Minister of Georgia at the Executive Government Meeting today.
Giorgi Gakharia stressed that the government under the rule of Georgian Dream has always been focused on a human since 2012 and in 2013, under the guidance of then Prime Minister Bidzina Ivanishvili, the work on a long-term human rights strategy was launched that was fully incorporated into the reforms.
“You may well be aware that our team in the government has always focused on human rights since 2012 and it all started under the guidance of Bidzina Ivanishvili then the Prime Minister of Georgia. We started work on a long-term Strategy on Human rights in 2013, which was fully executed and incorporated in the implementation of each reform. This year we will start work on a new stage of a long-term Strategy on Human Rights, which will be of paramount importance and we will be using every possible platform both domestically and from overseas when developing it”, – announced the Prime Minister of Georgia.
Head of Government called on the ministers to take an active part in this process.
“This is the most important format of a joint endeavor and I call upon every one of you to take active part in it within the scope of your competences” – concluded the Prime Minister of Georgia.
