Georgian FM: Genuine momentum in Georgian-Hungarian relations, our connections are stronger than ever
“Recent years have produced a genuine momentum in our relations as we have begun to make significant progress towards widening the breadth of our ties by establishing the framework of strategic partnership. Now our connections are stronger than ever,” stated Georgian Foreign Minister Ilia Darchiashvili at a joint briefing with Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó.
“During our meeting, we elaborated on how to strengthen partnerships in a variety of fields ranging from close political dialogue to robust cooperation in the fields of trade, economy, energy connectivity and many other areas. I am pleased that today we have a concrete deliverable by signing agreements between the Government of Georgia and the Government of Hungary on mutual promotion and protection of investments. No doubt, this agreement will facilitate greater opportunities in our trade and economic cooperation,” Darchiashvili said.
Darchiashvili expressed gratitude for Hungary’s steadfast support of Georgia’s priorities and thanked Minister Szijjártó for the invitation to Budapest soon after Hungary assumed the EU Presidency. This invitation, he noted, is a testament to Hungary’s unwavering support for Georgia and its foreign policy agenda.
