Georgian FM meets U.S. Senior Advisor for Caucasus Negotiations
Georgian Foreign Minister, Ilia Darchiashvili met with Louis Bono, the U.S. Senior Advisor for Caucasus Negotiations, discussing “the dire” security and humanitarian situation in Georgia’s occupied regions of Abkhazia and Tskhinvali.
The meeting also covered the dynamics of the Geneva International Discussions (GID) and the United States’ “positive involvement” in the process.
“The parties underscored the need for Russia to comply with the 2008 ceasefire agreement.
Ilia Darchiashvili thanked Louis Bono for the U.S. contribution to the peaceful resolution of the Russian-Georgian conflict and support for Georgia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity,” the Ministry stated.
