Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili has arrived in Prague to attend the first summit of the EU-initiated European Political Community (EPC), slated for 6-7 October.
The delegation includes Foreign Minister Ilia Darchiashvili and Head of the Government Administration Revaz Javelidze.
FM Darchiashvili says PM Garibashvili will participate in high-level thematic roundtable discussions. The meetings will cover the challenges threatening the global security architecture. In addition, the leaders will discuss how to continue to build the European family.
“A platform and gathering that isn’t just a gathering of EU leaders is vital. All countries with political ties to Europe and the European family are invited,” he asserted.
Darchiashvili believes this meeting will be an “excellent opportunity,” a new mechanism to offer these countries new opportunities for their future integration into the European Union.
An EU initiative aims to foster political dialogue and cooperation to address issues of common interest and strengthen the security, stability and prosperity of the European continent. It explained that this platform for political coordination does not replace any existing organisation, structure or process and does not aim to create new ones at this stage.
