Georgian fans take flight to Euro 2024, inaugural charter departs from Tbilisi
On June 16, the inaugural charter flight departed from Tbilisi International Airport, transporting a group of Georgian citizens to Dusseldorf, Germany, with air tickets subsidized by the Georgian government. They are traveling to support the Georgian football team at the stadium during Euro 2024.
According to the Ministry of Economy, Eurowings, Wizz Air, Hi Sky, and Georgian Wings will operate subsidized charter flights for Euro 2024.
These flights are scheduled to align with the national team’s match schedule, departing from Tbilisi and Kutaisi to Dortmund, Hamburg, Cologne, and Dusseldorf.
A total of 17 charter flights are planned, with 5,220 tickets already sold.
Since May 24, 2024, Georgian football fans have been able to purchase subsidized tickets exclusively through the online portal TKT.GE. Only Georgian citizens are eligible for these subsidized fares.
Passengers must present their match ticket during airport check-in to qualify for the subsidized rate; otherwise, they will be required to pay the full, non-subsidized fare.
Tickets are issued via email, and passengers must arrive at the airport for check-in three hours before departure. The subsidized one-way ticket price is EUR 195, and the round-trip fare is EUR 390.
