Georgian Dream faction has presented the legislative initiative “Girgvliani Amendments”, according to which the amendments are to be made in 12 articles of the Criminal Code  and two new special articles to be added to the Code. The head of the faction Mamuka Mdinaradze talked about the initiative at the press conference today and noted that the draft law will be registered today.

According to him, on January 29, the Faction made a statement that the legislative initiative would be prepared which, on the one hand, provides a high standard of protection of citizens from the state violence and on the other hand, ensures the integrity of justice.

The MP explains that one of the articles prepared within the initiative refers to the abuse of official authority by a state political official, and the other refers to illegal orders or tasks. He notes that sanctions will be tightened against the representatives of state authorities who intentionally try to impede administration of justice.

According to amendments the sanctions will be also tightened against the persons who will perform illegal orders or tasks.
