Georgian Defense Minister attends Ukraine Defense Contact Group meeting

“The Georgian Minister of Defense is visiting Germany. Irakli Chikovani is attending the 25th meeting of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group at Ramstein Air Base,” the Georgian Ministry of Defense reported.

According to the ministry, the defense leaders and high-ranking officials from countries supporting Ukraine are meeting the meeting.

US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin opened the international group’s session. Participants will discuss coordinated military assistance needs in the ongoing war in Ukraine. The Ukraine Defense Contact Group, established in April 2022 at the initiative of the United States, unites over 50 countries supporting Ukraine, the Ministry of Defense stated.
