Georgian Defence Minister participates in Ramstein Group meeting

Georgian Defence Minister Irakli Chikovani participated in the meeting of the Ukraine Defence Contact Group (UDCG, also known as the Ramstein Group).

According to the Defence Ministry, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg and US Defence Secretary Lloyd Austin opened the 23rd meeting attended by defence ministry heads and high-ranking officials from various countries.

The group reviewed the situation in the aftermath of Russia’s military aggression in Ukraine and the coordinated military aid needs.

The Ukraine Defence Contact Group is an alliance of 57 countries (all 32 member states of NATO and 25 other countries) established in 2022.
