Lasha Gadilia, Georgian Captain of PANTELENA vessel speaks about the details of the nine-day captivity in a phone conversation with the First Channel.
As he said on August 13, at about 23:30, when the ship was steered by his assistant, the armed pirates attacked the vessel by the threat of the weapon. As Lasha Gadilia recalls, the attackers locked up all sailors in one room for nine days.
On the tenth day, the sailors were released, but they did not speak about the details of their release.
According to Lasha Gadilia they are now in Congo and are waiting for meeting with the owner of the vessel.
All 17 Georgian sailors have already contacted their family members.
