The Border Police of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia has received its second H145 helicopter, enhancing its operational capabilities. The official delivery took place at the Airbus Helicopters plant in Germany.
According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the new helicopter is equipped with advanced rescue facilities and is capable of operating at high altitudes. It is fully outfitted with firefighting and mining rescue equipment.
“The Georgian crew, fully trained at the Airbus Helicopters training academy in Germany, transported the new European-type H145 helicopter to Georgia,” stated the MIA.
This acquisition is part of a broader agreement signed on December 19, 2022, between the MIA and Airbus Helicopters, a French company, for the purchase of three H145 helicopters. The third helicopter is expected by June 2024.
