Georgian Basketball Team's World Cup journey comes to end with defeat against Australia

The Georgian national basketball team lost their final game to Australia 84:100 in the second group stage of the World Cup.

With this loss, the Australians did not make it to the playoffs as they had lost their group matches against their direct rivals. Slovenia and Germany went to the playoffs. The match between Georgia and Australia was crucial in determining which team would finish third in the group.

Georgia faced significant challenges before the match, with key players Tornike Shengelia, Duda Sanadze, Mikheil Berishvili, and Giorgi Tsintsadze sidelined due to injuries.

In their debut World Championship, the Georgian team won two matches and lost three.
