Georgian and Ukrainian Presidents Salome Zourabichvili and Volodymyr Zelenskyy met within the framework of the Ukrainian Peace Summit in Switzerland.
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba, Head of Ukraine’s Presidential Administration Andriy Yermak and Vice Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko attended the meeting.
Salome Zourabichvili congratulated Volodymyr Zelenskyy on the agreed decision to open negotiations on EU accession and reconfirmed support and solidarity with Ukraine. She expressed hope that Georgia and Ukraine would soon continue the European integration path together.
The President remarked that the place of Georgia and Ukraine is in Europe. She stressed the significance of peace in Georgia, Ukraine and the region to ensure future development.
At the meeting, the Georgian President also raised the issue of hostage Georgian fighter Mamuka Gatserelia. The Ukrainian President pledged to work on the issue.
