Georgian Ambassador to NATO hopes PM's visit to give significant impetus to full-fledged membership in alliance
Georgia’s Ambassador to NATO, Viktor Dolidze said the Georgian PM’s first visit to the NATO Headquarters and his meetings with the NATO Secretary General and Assistant Secretary General would give significant impetus to Georgia’s future full-fledged membership in the alliance.
According to the Ambassador, the NATO-Georgia Commission sitting will be held on February 21 and the PM is also scheduled to hold bilateral meetings.
“The Ambassadors of the alliance member states will have the opportunity to discuss current issues, main priorities of foreign and security policies, ongoing reforms and integration process. The NATO Washington Summit is drawing closer. It will be the 75th jubilee summit which will review facing threats and partnership where Georgia is a leading country. This interaction is significant and we hope that the PM’s first visit to Brussels and his meetings in NATO will give additional impetus to Georgi’s full-fledged membership into alliance in the future,” he said.
Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze departed for Brussels on his first visit on February 19. The PM will meet the NATO Secretary General, Jens Stoltenberg and participate in the NATO-Georgia Commission meeting within the framework of his visit to Brussels.
