Georgia reports 1,700 coronavirus cases, 7,002 recoveries, 28 deaths

Georgia reported 1,700 coronavirus cases, 7,002 recoveries, and 28 deaths on Sunday, the official figures show.

Georgian capital Tbilisi recorded the highest number of 893 Covid-19 cases within the last 24 hours, followed by the Imereti region with 204 cases, and the Kakheti region with 129 cases.

A total of 9,572 tests have been conducted in the past 24 hours throughout the country. Among them, 6,738 tests were rapid tests, while the remaining 2,834 were PCR tests.

The daily test-positivity rate stands at  17,76%, while  20,84% in the past 14 days.

Georgia’s total case tally reached 1,625,372, among them 1,554,533  people recovered and 16,366 died.

As of March 6, 2,825,833 people got the Covid-19 vaccine, with 550 in a day.
