Georgia decries any intention against territorial integrity of sovereign state, GD resolution on Ukraine reads

“Georgia condemns any intention that may be directed against the territorial integrity of the sovereign state, which poses a new threat not only to Ukraine but regional peace and security,” the ruling Georgian Dream party stressed in its draft resolution on Ukraine.

“The Georgian Parliament declares that joining NATO is a sovereign right of the state and any attempt to restrict it by military-political means is categorically unacceptable.

The Parliament believes that the prevention of war in Ukraine should be a major concern for the international community.

The Parliament expresses solidarity with friendly Ukrainian people, who could be severely harmed by any possible military escalation.

In light of the foregoing, the Parliament calls on the Georgian Government to continue contributing to the prevention of war in Ukraine by diplomatic instruments and in close coordination with strategic partners,” the statement reads.
