Georgia celebrates 100th anniversary of First Democratic Republic of Georgia

National Day – Georgia celebrates the 100th anniversary of establishment of First Democratic Republic of Georgia. The day is marked in Georgia and different countries of the world with solemn activities.

Presidents of Poland, Lithuania, Latvia, Slovakia, Finland and Armenia arrived in Georgia. Chairmen of parliaments of Estonia, Moldova, Ukraine and other high ranking guests also arrived on this occasion.

Jean-Claude Juncker, President of European Commission arrived at the invitation of Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili. Representatives of Georgian Diaspora will take part in solemn activities.

Entertaining and cultural activities will be held both in Tbilisi and regions. Exhibition-sales will be arranged and military equipment will be exhibited. Solidarity Fund corner will be placed at Rustaveli Avenue and the collected money will be used for charity purposes.

State and private sectors, Georgian and international companies are involved in organizing of the activities. Oath taking ceremonies of the newly summoned military servicemen will take place in Tbilisi, Shindisi, Vardzia, Kojori, Batumi and Gelati.

Georgian national anthem will be performed by opera singer Nino Machaidze. The hymn of First Republic of Georgia “Dideba” will be performed in new interpretation.

Theatrical performance will be staged to resemble Declaration of Independence at Youth Palace. TV Tower will be lit in colors of the Georgian state flag. Jubilee activities will be wrapped up by concerts and fireworks.
