GD's Mdinaradze: Opposition offered to nominate HCoJ candidates tomorrow
The parliamentary majority on Monday offered the opposition to nominate the High Council of Justice (HCoJ) candidates they consider acceptable tomorrow.
“We will inform the public by the end of the day whether there is an agreement, a chance of consensus in this regard,” the Chairman of the parliamentary faction Georgian Dream, Mamuka Mdinaradze, briefed the media.
“One of the European recommendations is to elect the HCoJ members. In this regard, we feel that around 15 of the submitted applicants fit the standards of both competence and integrity, as evidenced during the interview held in the Georgian Parliament.
However, we will not limit the members of our opposition, and we will provide them, each political entity engaged in the opposition, the opportunity to present the candidates acceptable to them with a tiny, brief rationale the next day,” he asserted.
