According to Mamuka Mdinaradze, Executive Secretary of the Georgian Dream, the opposition was deceiving their voters before the elections by claiming that the Georgian Dream had only 25-30% support, and now they have nothing left but to “organize foolish protests.”
Mdinaradze stated that the opposition’s protests lack resources.
“Every political party has its supporters, and among their limited number of advocates—often referred to as representatives of the arts—there exists a group called ‘Desperate Situation,’ aptly named to reflect their current state. They misled the public by claiming the Georgian Dream had support levels of 25 or 30 per cent, and now they offer no explanation for this deception. If they fail to organize these misguided protests, what will they tell their voters? I genuinely sympathize with the repercussions of their lies, which forced them to perpetuate a second falsehood: that instead of 25 per cent, the ruling party has 54 per cent because they allegedly falsified several hundred thousand votes.
To conceal one blatant lie, they introduced another, even more egregious one. Regrettably, there are people—albeit a very small segment of their supporters—who buy into this absurdity. Some sincerely believe that out of 2 million votes, 300,000 were falsified and cast by the ruling team. Some theoretically entertain this possibility. I want to emphasize again that I have no intention of insulting anyone, regardless of their political affiliations. These individuals are voters with their own perspectives; they are subject to psychological terror.
If you consume content from Mtavari Arkhi, Formula, and TV Pirveli for two weeks, you may very well find yourself a victim of this psychological manipulation. Yet, to believe that in an electronic voting system, someone could stuff 300,000 votes out of 2 million—if someone had told me this, I would personally feel insulted. I say this sincerely. Some people genuinely believe this narrative.
Neither the propagation of this lie nor these protests possess any real support. They continue to dwell within this delusion. For instance, according to Georgian pseudo-liberals, the American people will awaken in Chelyabinsk today because Trump has won the elections. That’s their narrative. Now, imagine if Kamala Harris claimed, ‘We’re waking up in Chelyabinsk’—their campaign in Georgia operates at a similar level,” stated Mamuka Mdinaradze.
