The honorary chairman of Georgian Dream, Bidzina Ivanishvili, congratulated the Georgian national football team on their significant victory against Portugal, which allowed them to advance to the round of 16 at the European Championship.

According to the GD’s press service, the national team will receive a reward of 30 million GEL. Additionally, on Ivanishvili’s initiative, should Georgia win the upcoming match against Spain and advance further, the team will be awarded an additional 30 million GEL.

Ivanishvili expressed his gratitude to each player, the coaching staff, and the Georgian fans for this historic and dream victory.

Following the Georgian national team’s success in the qualifying stage of the 2024 European Championship, the Cartu Foundation announced on April 23 that the football team would receive 30 million GEL for exiting the group stage. Furthermore, the national team will receive an additional 30 million GEL for each subsequent match they win.

The Georgian national team achieved a 2:0 victory against Portugal in the final match of the group stage of the European Championship, securing their place in the round of 16.
