The nominal Gross Domestic Product (GDP) amounted to 71 754.2 million GEL in 2022, up by 19.6 percent YoY, while the real growth of GDP increased by 10.1 percent. In 2022 GDP deflator percentage change equalled 8.6 percent YoY, the National Statistics Service (GeoStat) reported.
The largest shares of GDP by activity are held by Wholesale and retail trade; repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles (15.2 percent) and Manufacturing (11.1 percent), followed by Real estate activities (9.9 percent), Construction (8.0 percent), Agriculture, forestry and fishing (7.0 percent), Transportation and storage (6.5 percent), Public administration and defence; compulsory social security (6.4 percent), Financial and insurance activities (4.9 percent), Information and communication (4.7 percent).
Real growth was registered in Transportation and storage (28.4 percent), Information and communication (49.9 percent), Electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply (38.9 percent), Construction (14.8 percent), Wholesale and retail trade; repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles (6.1 percent), Manufacturing (7.8 percent), Arts, entertainment and recreation (17.3 percent), Accommodation and food service activities (16.7 percent), Mining and quarrying (22.8 percent).
A decrease in the real value-added was recorded in Real estate activities (-4.8 percent), Human health and social work activities (-5.7 percent), and professional, scientific and technical activities (-2.4 percent).
