GD to secure 29 mandates, opposition – 21 in Tbilisi City Assembly

Based on the results of the runoff municipal elections published by the Central Election Commission (CEC), the ruling Georgian Dream (GD) party secured 29 mandates in the Tbilisi City Assembly (Sakrebulo), while 21 mandates will be distributed among opposition representatives.

GD single-mandate candidate in Saburtalo Majoritarian constituency Avtandil Tsintsadze won 55.523% of votes. Opposition candidate from Girchi-More Freedom party candidate Boris Kurua received 33. 477 % of voter support.

GD candidates won in other constituencies in Tbilisi through the first round of local elections.

Six parties will represent the 50-member Tbilisi City Assembly: Georgian Dream, United National Movement, Gakharia-For Georgia, Lelo, Girchi-More Freedom and Ana Dolidze – For People.
