GD MP says UNM, Strategy Aghmashenebeli engage in extremist activities, radicalization
The opposition United National Movement (UNM) and Strategy Aghmashenebeli parties are engaged in radicalization and extremist activities, said Anri Okhanashvili, Chairman of the parliamentary Legal Affairs Committee.
According to Okhanashvili, the work on the EC’s 12-point recommendations proceeded in parliament-established groups and committees, which the UNM boycotted.
“Whatever they talk about, they cannot retract the sabotage declared to the EU integration path, to be assessed politically. We have not closed the door to anyone, and if the UNM and Strategy Aghmashenebeli decide to participate in any work, they are welcome. However, unfortunately, they are engaged in radicalization and extremist activities. It is not in their interests that Georgia received a candidate status. The 12 recommendations give them room for speculation,” Okhanashvili said.
