GD Member deems Pentagon's decision as a pleasing message to Russia

“The U.S. Department of State’s decision serves as a pleasing message to Russia since Moscow sees that the U.S. interests in the South Caucasus may be weakening,” said Irakli Kadagishvili, a member of the ruling Georgian Dream (GD) party.

According to Irakli Kadagishvili, it is regrettable when the relationship between the two states in the military sphere, which has a very rich and proud history for both countries, is sacrificed for political purposes.

“This was not a good move. It was a harmful move. This move is preconditioned not on the part of American soldiers but is a continuation of the policy that followed our statements when we underscored that we do not interfere in domestic affairs of other countries, and we do not want Maidenization,” said Kadagishvili.

On July 5, the US Department of State announced the indefinite postponement of the Noble Partner exercise in Georgia, originally scheduled for July 25 – August 6, 2024, as part of the US-Georgia relationship review.
