GD Mdinaradze: Zourabichvili to be deposed as president once we get constitutional majority
“We will not forgive Zourabichvili for violating the Constitution. Once we secure a constitutional majority, she won’t merely be a former president but a deposed one,” Mamuka Mdinaradze, Executive Secretary of the ruling Georgian Dream party, stated on social media, commenting on the re-initiation of the impeachment process against President Salome Zourabichvili.
Mdinaradze asserted that Zourabichvili had betrayed the trust of over a million supporters.
“Salome Zourabichvili deceived more than a million people who backed her at our request. Now we can confidently speak to each of them: we will not forgive her for betraying your trust and disregarding the Constitution of Georgia. After we secure a constitutional majority, she won’t simply be a former president; she will be a deposed one.
P.S. During Shalva Papuashvili’s briefing, the first counter-argument from opposition media was reminiscent of Bolshevik reasoning: they suggested that the end justifies the means, implying that violating the Constitution is acceptable if it serves our relations with the West. In contrast, we believe in achieving peace, dignity, prosperity, and European integration through lawful means,” Mdinaradze wrote.
The parliamentary majority has decided to restart the impeachment process against President Salome Zourabichvili.
