“It does not matter when the next round of negotiations will take place. What matters is how ready the sides are to reach an agreement,” said Shalva Papuashvili, MP of the ruling Georgian Dream party.
Papuashvili said the ruling party is working on four out of six topics on the agenda, including the election reform and an interim facts-finding commission to probe into possible election fraud.
The MP further noted that a meeting mediated by the European Council President did not accentuate the political prisoners’ issue.
“Now, it is up to the opposition to show readiness for a constructive dialogue,” Shalva Papuashvili said.
Papuashvili also added that if any fraud of the October 31 parliamentary elections is proved, the ruling party would consider the early elections and a plebiscite.
