The Honorable Chairman of the ruling Georgian Dream (GD) party, Bidzina Ivanishvili congratulated Georgian athletes on their success at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

“I congratulate our commendable judokas, Tato Grigalashvili, Lasha Bekauri, and Ilia Sulamanidze on their success at the Paris Olympics.

Twenty-four-year-old Tato Grigalashvili is a three-time world champion, three-time European champion and Olympic vice-champion. He has much more ahead, and I am confident, he will win the champion title at the next Olympics.

Lasha Bekauri, at the age of 24, is a legendary figure in Georgian judo and sports. I am confident that he will fulfil the promise he made three years ago by winning a third Olympic gold in four years.

Twenty-three-year-old Ilia Sulamanidze, who reached the biggest success at the very first Olympics won a silver medal and secured the third medal for the Georgian Olympic team. More success is ahead.

I wish success and victories to our Olympic athletes,” Bidzina Ivanishvili said.

The GD party press service explained that the Honorable Chairman was confirmed with coronavirus two weeks ago and is currently undergoing treatment. That is why the publication of the congratulatory letter was delayed. Currently, Bidzina Ivanishvili’s health state is satisfactory, the party said.
