GD Founder returns to politics

Bidzina Ivanishvili, Founder and former Chairman of the ruling Georgian Dream (GD) party comes back into politics, the party confirmed. Bidzina Ivanishvili will be the GD’s Honorable Chairman.

“Exactly three years ago, I informed the society about my decision on my distancing from active political processes. Now, three years after, with my own initiative and with the status of Honorable Chairman, I return to political life,” he said.

Bidzina Ivanishvili was asked if any changes were planned in the government following his comeback into politics. He said: “No, such things are not planned.”

The ruling Georgian Dream (GD) party holds Congress on December 30. The GD will approve the new composition of the Political Council.
