Former Chairman of the ruling Georgian Dream (GD) party Bidzina Ivanishvili, GD Chair Irakli Kobakhidze, and Parliament Speaker Kakha Kuchava cast their ballots this morning.
Irakli Kobakhidze vows the Georgian Dream is the only political force, which has a real plan for the country’s development. He also called on Georgian people to go to the polls.
“Georgian voters should make their choice in a peaceful environment. I call on all political parties not to admit confrontation or any provocation. We need patience and a peaceful environment for elections,” Kobakhidze said.
Kakha Kuchava said he voted in favour of Kakha Kaladze, GD Tbilisi Mayoral candidate and the Georgian Dream party.
“This is the choice that everyone should make since we have our program and vision of city, regions and the country development. That is not a pre-election promise. I am sure we will be proud of our results 20 years after,” Kuchava said.
Bidzina Ivanishvili left the polling station with no comment.
Local elections are going on in Georgia. Georgian voters elect mayors in Tbilisi and 63 municipalities on October 2.
