GD Executive Secretary thanks OSCE/ODIHR for acknowledging competitive elections amid pressure

“International assessments of the elections represent a significant acknowledgement. While we may disagree with some criticisms, we recognize that elections took place in Georgia—something even the most critical and biased observers cannot deny,” stated Mamuka Mdinaradze, Executive Secretary of Georgian Dream.

He emphasized that no one has questioned the legitimacy of the elections.

“The discussions surrounding the elections primarily focus on legal issues, which is an unprecedented approach. What do these legalities have to do with the essence of the elections?

Regarding non-recognition, no claims have been made by either side,” Mdinaradze added.

He expressed gratitude to the OSCE/ODIHR for highlighting the competitiveness of the elections despite substantial pressure.

The OSCE/ODIHR released its assessment of Georgia’s parliamentary elections yesterday. Pascal Allizard, the OSCE Special Coordinator, expressed hope that the newly elected leadership will effectively address key national challenges and advance Georgia’s goal of EU membership.
