GD claims Ahali party member vandalizes car of their Chkhorotsku election HQ Head
A member of the Gvaramia-Melia party, Vakhtang Lemonjava, allegedly vandalized the vehicle of Jumber Izoria, the local Chkhorotsku election headquarters head for the Georgian Dream (GD) party, a statement from the ruling GD party’s press service reads.
The GD reports that Lemonjava was under the influence of alcohol when the incident occurred late last night.
Izoria explained that he parked his car in the centre of Lesichine village before attending a meeting. Upon his return, he encountered a crowd of onlookers who informed him that Lemonjava had been throwing stones at his vehicle.
“This incident has many eyewitnesses. It is crucial for Georgian Dream that the pre-election campaign takes place in a peaceful environment. However, we are witnessing aggression, violence, and trespassing by our opponents. The bullying and hooliganism from the opposition’s supporters exacerbate polarization. I urge our opponents to accept their impending defeat and refrain from breaking the law,” Izoria stated.
An investigation into the incident has been initiated, and the GD party’s Chkhorotsku office plans to hold a briefing at 2 p.m.
