GD Chair: Droa's Khoshtaria gets millions of Russian rubles from sanctioned budget
The chair of the ruling Georgian Dream party, Irakli Kobakhidze, on Sunday, echoed the recent protest outside the Kvareli Lake Resort, which ended in the arrest of 17 people, including Droa opposition party leader, Elene Khoshtaria.
Kobakhidze said the West sanctioned the Russian state and its budget, while Elene Khoshtaria, “one of the leaders of yesterday’s protest, gets millions of Russian rubles from this sanctioned budget.”
The GD leader noted that “yesterday’s events show a real face of the radical opposition.”
“Those so-called protests we saw yesterday had just one goal – an escalation, to stir up provocations in the country, with the ultimate goal of [launching] the second front. I would like to urge the public to properly observe and assess these events,” Kobakhidze stated.
On Saturday, the police detained around 17 protesters who gathered at the resort after Mtavari Arkhi channel and Elene Khoshtaria on Friday alleged that Lavrov’s daughter and her husband were staying in Kvareli Lake Resort and the hotel would be hosting the wedding party of Lavrov’s family members.
