GD and opposition members clash at City Assembly session

Members of the ruling Georgian Dream (GD) party and the opposition clashed verbally and physically during a session of the Tbilisi City Assembly (Sakrebulo).

The altercation erupted in response to GD member Irakli Kheladze’s accusation that the opposition was aiming to “gain profits” from the October 13 Vake Park fountain tragedy that claimed a life of a teenager.

The situation became so tense that the Sakrebulo Chairman halted the speech, and the opposition walked out of the meeting.
