Gakharia on negotiations: Our position is clear; Khazaradze seeks more time to address key issues
After meeting with Mamuka Khazaradze, leader of the Strong Georgia coalition, at the presidential administration, Giorgi Gakharia, chair of the For Georgia party, addressed reporters, asserting that his position on the negotiations is both clear and unwavering.
Gakharia noted that Khazaradze has requested additional time to clarify his stance.
“I want to emphasize that everything is established on our side; our position is firm and transparent. Khazaradze has asked for more time to resolve certain issues, which has resulted in some delays,” Gakharia explained.
He highlighted that his focus prioritizes the efforts of President Salome Zourabichvili to ensure that the upcoming elections steer Georgia back toward democratic, European development. Gakharia expressed gratitude to the President for initiating the meeting and to Khazaradze for his willingness to engage in the dialogue.
“My primary concern is for the interests of our country,” Gakharia affirmed.
“My priority is to see the Georgian Dream removed from power and to prevent the return of the National Movement,” he added.
Gakharia emphasized the significance of the forthcoming elections for Georgia’s future.
“It is essential that the Georgian voters express a desire for a change in leadership after October 26. We aim to ensure that neither the Georgian Dream nor the National Movement can dominate the political landscape,” Gakharia concluded.
