Gakharia For Georgia member asserts party's commitment to its strategy and tactics in political struggle

“I am not aware of the specific plan, as we are not the organizers of the protests; however, we remain committed to fighting on both legal and political fronts to ensure the holding of new elections, the correction of legislative norms, and the restoration of Georgia’s constitutional framework, while preventing systemic electoral fraud,” said Teona Akubardia, a member of the Gakharia For Georgia party.

According to Akubardia, peaceful protest is not the only avenue of resistance. She emphasized that while party members support protests as an exercise of constitutional rights, they are also focused on legal action and maintaining active communication with Western partners. Their goal is to prevent the legitimization of election results and to protect visa-free travel for ordinary citizens while holding Ivanishvili’s forces accountable for their efforts to undermine the Constitution and deprive citizens of their freedom of choice.

Teona Akubardia stressed that elections in Georgia will lack legitimacy unless new elections are conducted.

“We do not recognize the legitimacy of this parliament, and you will witness that on the very first day when the Georgian Dream convenes an illegitimate parliament and finds itself alone. Withdrawing electoral lists or renouncing mandates is not our method of resistance. Some parties and coalitions have considered submitting applications ten times, but we do not follow that path. This agenda aligns with the National Movement and is fundamentally different from our approach.

We will not be included in the agenda of the National Movement, nor will we be manipulated by the levers of the Georgian Dream used against us or dictated by their will,” she stated.
