Gakharia for Georgia accuses Sheraton Batumi of persecuting activists and concealing evidence
The Gakharia for Georgia party has issued a statement regarding the Sheraton Batumi hotel.
“Instead of helping to uncover the truth behind the attack on Giorgi Gakharia, the Sheraton Batumi, in collaboration with the regime, is persecuting activists who protested the hotel’s role in the attack and its subsequent efforts to destroy and conceal evidence.
According to the hotel’s notification, the regime began summoning activists who participated in the peaceful protest at the Sheraton Batumi. The hotel, which did not call the police during the attack, only contacted law enforcement when activists peacefully protested its illegal actions.
We remind the public that the Sheraton Batumi initially created conditions that facilitated the attack (by clearing the hotel lobby of personnel and failing to call the police), then destroyed material evidence at the scene and, in coordination with the regime, helped conceal key evidence—specifically, the camera recordings,” the Gakharia for Georgia party stated.
