French side will inspect those who wish to travel to France in Georgian airports
Officers of the Immigration Service of France will be represented in Georgia as well as the officers of Georgian Immigration Service will be represented in Paris, Lyon, as well as in other cities where direct flights are implemented.
The relevant announcement was made at the press conference of interior ministers of France and Georgia in Tbilisi today. France’s Interior Minister Christophe Castaner pays a visit to Georgia.
“The visa-free travel has been the greatest achievement of Georgia for the last decade. I would like to thank our French colleagues who understand what this achievement means for our democratic development. Of course, this success is not at risk, but we need to take certain steps. We have already taken some steps independently. Officers of the Immigration Service of France will be represented in Georgia as well as the officers of Georgian Immigration Service will be represented in Paris, Lyon, as well as in other cities where direct flights are implemented, in order to assess the risks that may exist in terms of further shelter request”, – Interior Minister Giorgi Gakharia stated.
According to Giorgi Gakharia, the above measure will be of preventive nature.
