Freestyle wrestler Geno Petriashvili wins title of Olympic Champion

Geno Petriashvili, Georgian heavyweight freestyle wrestler (-125 kg) has won the title of Olympic Champion at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Geno Petriashvili, 30, defeated Amir Hossein Zare, an Iranian freestyle wrestler with a score of 10:9 and secured the fifth medal for Georgia.

Geno Petriashvili previously was the European champion in 2016 and 2020 and the world champion in 2017, 2018 and 2019, as well as a bronze medal at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro and a silver medal at the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo.
