The Trump administration submitted a notice of withdrawal from the World Health Organization (WHO) to the United Nations Secretary-General, Fox News reported.

Congress was also notified of the official removal. Sen. Bob Menendez, D-N.J. tweeter that “the congress received notification that POTUS officially withdrew the U.S. from the WHO in the midst of a pandemic.”

US President Donald Trump announced withdrawal from the World Health Organization in late May.

According to Fox News, Trump’s decision will come into force in July 2021.
