Fourteen members of the opposition United National Movement (UNM) faction quit the Zugdidi City Assembly (Sakrebulo), the faction Chair Maia Kalandia announced at a briefing attended by all resigned members of the Sakrebulo.
Furthermore, employees of the Sakrebulo faction apparatus also quit the party.
Maia Kalandia explained that “undemocratic rule in the party” preconditioned their decision. The deputy chair of the Sakrebulo, the chairs of the commissions, and the faction chair left the party.
In total, there were 22 members from the United National Movement in the Zugdidi City Assembly.
