Four people imposed imprisonment into Buta Robakidze’s case

Four people – Davit Iashvili, Guram Donadze, Zurab Mikadze and Irakli Pirtskhalava – were sentenced to imprisonment into death case of Buta Robakidze, the youth killed in special operation in 2004, based on the ruling made by Judge Davit Mgeliashvili of Tbilisi City Court.

Irakli Pirtskhalava, former Deputy Head of the Criminal Police, Guram Donadze, former Head of Press-Service of Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA), Davit Iashvili, former Head of the Tbilisi Vake-Saburatlo Branch of the Division of Internal Affairs and Zurab Mikadze, former Head of the Patrol Police Division of the Main Division of the Ministry of Internal Affairs will serve 5 years and 3 months in prison.

The fifth person Zaza Bakradze has been imposed conditional imprisonment for having admitted the guilt. Tbilisi City Court was considering the case involving 5 former officials of MIA for more than 5 years.

Buta Robakidze, a 19-year-old youth, was killed as a result of a special operation on November 23, 2004, in Didube district of Tbilisi.
