Nikoloz Samkharadze, Chair of the Foreign Relations Committee, expressed optimism about the European Commission’s conclusion on November 8.
“We are optimistic. I think that the conclusion of the European Commission on November 8 will be positive and the government-implemented reforms will be adequately reflected in the European Commission’s report. We have great hope that the European Commission will recommend to the European Council to grant the status to Georgia,” stated Samkharadze.
He also commented on opposition statements, noting that they do not seem pleased with the prospect of Georgia gaining candidate status.
“This shows their genuine face and desires. They go against the interests of Georgia,” he added.
