Nikoloz Samkharadze, Chair of the Foreign Relations Committee of Georgia, met with faction leaders from the Foreign Relations Committee of the German Bundestag during their visit to Georgia.
The discussion covered key topics, including Georgia-EU relations, Georgia’s role in sanctions policy against Russia, the Foreign Influence Transparency law, and the domestic political and pre-election environment.
Samkharadze also briefed the German delegation on the challenges and threats in Georgia’s occupied regions.
“During the meeting, we discussed various issues and had a very open and frank discussion. One of the topics was the rather harsh statements made by Michael Roth, the Chairman of the Bundestag Committee, during his visit to Georgia. I expressed my concern about a high-ranking German official insulting the Georgian people and the Georgian Church,” said Nikoloz Samkharadze after the meeting.
