Foreign Committee Chair addresses Warsaw Security Forum

The Foreign Relations Committee Chair, Nikoloz Samkharadze, attended the Warsaw Security Forum. During the forum, Samkharadze delivered a speech on the security challenges facing the Black Sea.

In his address, Samkharadze emphasized the significance of the Black Sea region in Europe’s security, the EU’s recognition of geopolitical factors, Russia’s occupation of Georgian territories, the importance of EU and NATO expansion, and Russia’s aggression in Ukraine.

“Today, both Georgia and the whole of Europe are facing numerous challenges. The ongoing conflicts in our region are harming the stability and development of the Black Sea region. The best solution for strengthening unified European security is the enlargement of both NATO and the European Union with the participation of Georgia and Ukraine. This action will bring the Black Sea region under a unified security umbrella, ultimately ensuring the promotion of stability, peace, and sustainable development in the region. This is in the interests of both Europe and Georgia. Therefore, the European Union and the new European Commission should take into account these geopolitical factors and prepare the European Union for further expansion through internal reforms,” said Nikoloz Samkharadze.

The Warsaw Security Forum is a significant annual event in Europe, bringing together high-ranking politicians, decision-makers, experts, and researchers to discuss global security challenges and create new strategies for strengthening peace and security worldwide.
