Giorgi Gakharia, Chairman of the For Georgia political party, met with NATO Secretary General’s Special Representative for the Caucasus and Central Asia James Appathurai in Brussels.
The meeting addressed Georgia’s NATO membership and challenges related to the country’s national and regional security, For Georgia’s press service reports.
“James Appathurai and Giorgi Gakharia discussed the current political situation in Georgia and the upcoming local elections. Giorgi Gakharia introduced James Appathurai to his own political and party plans,” the press statement reads.
Members of the For Georgia political party are holding working meetings with the EU and NATO in Brussels. Former Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia founded For Georgia opposition party on May 29, 2021.
